MUSCULENT, 1oz - PHYBIOSIS
Designed for use on sore, inflamed muscles due to exercise, overuse or over-stretching of muscles.
Inflammations of the joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons are everyday problems for many. From youngsters, who misuse or overuse their bodies in sports or outdoor activities, to the elderly who suffer tender or painful joints, we have all experienced the discomfort of swollen ankles, overstretched knees, sore muscles, torn ligaments or pulled tendons.
Whereas pharmaceutical medicine directs us toward full-body painkillers for these occurrences, Aromatic Medicine acts swiftly and locally on the injured area, bearing no side effects. Pain-killers such as aspirin, acetominophen, and ibuprofen suppress pain by cutting off the pain-response to the brain, so that you may continue the activity otherwise compromised. Usage of these drugs is particularly common in highly competitive sports where individual health comes secondary to athletic achievement. Unfortunately, this repeated misuse or overuse of musculature, well beyond the body’s capabilities, can be quite damaging in the long term. Ultimately, this masking of the pain response may lead to exerting unusually heavy strain on an area that might normally be at rest after injury or stress.
Pain is an important messenger, frequently misunderstood, but it is necessary to health and even more so, to survival. It is a vital communication that raises the alarm to reverse injury and to seek recovery. Ignoring pain provides neither respite nor cure. Sports medicine defines inflammation as the result of a repeated irritation taking the form of micro-trauma. In competitive sports these injuries are due to direct trauma (as in football) or normal bodily stresses (as in running, golfing or tennis, etc.). These injuries may also be experienced by everyone who bangs a countertop or a file cabinet with a knee or an elbow. Pain appears to alert and inform us to refrain from further injury and to investigate the origin so that we can begin to heal and so that pain-killing doesn’t become a way to relieve our self-understanding and responsibility.
DIRECTIONS: Rub liniment over sore muscles, massaging lightly until all the solution has penetrated the skin. Repeat several times daily, hourly if necessary, as long as pain persists. Continue use 2-3 times daily until pain has subsided.
CAUTION: If skin redness or irritation develops, or pain lasts more than 10 days, discontinue use and consult a physician. Do not touch your eyes after applying the product. Wash hands thoroughly after application. If the solution comes in contact with the eyes, douse eye with pure vegetable oil then rinse with saline solution. In case of accidental ingestion, drink pure vegetable oil, induce vomiting and consult a physician.
