How does it work?
Your skin naturally has a hydrating and protective layer called the “acidic phospholipid layer”. This layer is made up of moisture already existing on the skin plus moisture from other sources (i.e. air, etc…) and secretions from the sebaceous glands. A phospholipid is a type of molecule that has a “head”, which is attracted to water and, a “tail”, which is made of oil and is repelled by water. This functions as a protective layer to hydrate but it also prevents damage to our skin….as nature intended.
But due to environmental toxins and the overuse of chemicals in such products as detergents, shampoos, lotions, etc., this phospholipid layer has been damaged.
Commercial moisturizers attempt to replenish the moisture of the skin. But there are a few problems:
Since lubricating ingredients like oil and hydrating water repel and do not mix in nature….“liposomes” must be created in order for the moisturizing ingredients to penetrate the skin down to the layer where it can be effective.
Not all commercial moisturizers use liposomes, so the product is not moisturizing your skin effectively. Moreover, manufacturers that do use liposomes, typically create them chemically.
Most moisturizers also contain waxes - again, mostly synthetic - that clog the pores of the skin. When phospholipid molecules are disrupted, they reassemble themselves in tiny sphere-like bubbles which are liposomes. These liposomes can penetrate to deliver
solutions below the lipid layer of the skin.
Oblige by Nature has produced natural liposomes in the Fluid Body Moisturizer by incorporating certified organic, non-GMO Soy Lecithin, a natural phospholipid, plus their own blends of organic hydrolates and nourishing vegetal oils.
The liposomes are naturally formed when you vigorously shake the water and oil layered ingredients together in the bottle. This disrupts the phospholipids in the Soy Lecithin and you are effectively “mixing” or temporarily emulsifying the oil and water together. Applying the Fluid Body Moisturizer right away to your skin, the moisturizing agents are delivered deep down to the skin layer where it can work effectively. With regular use, it will aid in the rehydration and lubrication of your skin and in repairing your own natural protective layer. Because no chemicals are used in the Fluid Body Moisturizer, the ingredients will soon return to their natural state of separation. It must be vigorously shaken before each use to activate the liposomes.
